How it works
Most planners give you one number and a pile of inputs. Monte separates what is true from what you are considering — so you can explore hard without ever putting your real plan at risk.
Your dashboard
What is true today — income, spending, balances, debts. Change one and it lands in every plan you keep; a plan that deliberately disagrees is left alone, and told to you by name.
Named futures
Whole possible futures built on those facts. Keep several open — “what if we moved” and “what if we stayed” — put two side by side, and take any single difference across.
Questions you ask
A sealed sketchpad hung off one plan: retire at 55, buy the house. Nothing touches the plan until you press Add to plan — a one-off copy of what the scenario models today. And when the plan underneath changes, a scenario picks it up everywhere except what it changed itself.
Features
A deterministic forecasting engine, a dashboard that reconciles with your real paycheck, and a planner that runs right in your browser.
Your money, traced
A real paystub, not a pie chart. Income flows into the gross pool; pre-tax 401(k) and HSA come off beside taxes and payroll deductions in paystub order; take-home joins your available cash and fans out to spending, debts and savings — each to the actual category, loan or account. Employer match flies in as its own source.

Two futures at once
Keep “what if we moved” and “what if we stayed” as separate plans, then draw one straight over the other on the same chart. Monte itemises every difference between them — each changed age, amount and life event — so you can take just the ones you want across.

The lenses
Every lens runs on the same forecast and answers one question properly — with the verdict written on the chart, not left for you to infer. More are on the way.
Retire early. Stop working early — find the earliest age your money comfortably lasts a lifetime.

Under the hood
A forecast is only as good as its assumptions. Here’s what Monte works out for you — and what it won’t pretend to know.
All fifty of them, plus DC, at the current year’s published rates — alongside your federal brackets and payroll tax.
Rates, brackets and contribution limits come from the IRS and each state, not from a number someone typed in once.
A raise that only keeps pace with inflation won’t quietly push you into a higher bracket twenty years out.
Buying in March and buying in November are different answers, and Monte knows which one you picked.
Social Security timing, the withdrawals the IRS eventually forces on your 401(k), and two people retiring at different times.
Taking $50,000 out of a 401(k) costs more than $50,000. Monte works out how much more, at your real rate.

One line you can trace. Same inputs, same forecast — every figure traces back to the assumption behind it. And when you want the range around that line, Confidence runs your plan through thousands of simulated market futures. Planning estimates, not filing figures or advice.
Confidence
The forecast stays deterministic — same inputs, same line. Confidence wraps that line in a Monte Carlo fan: your plan replayed through thousands of simulated market futures, right in your browser, summarized as one honest probability.

Every run ends in plain English — how often your money goes the distance across the simulated futures, worded as carefully as the math behind it.
Statistical draws, or real market history replayed in multi-year stretches. Volatility dials for stocks, bonds, cash and inflation, up to 5,000 futures per run — every control included, free.
A plan below the bar comes with the moves that lift it — retiring a little later, claiming Social Security at 70 — each measured, and one tap away from trying it.

So the planner needs as little of them as it can — and lets you keep them on your own machine.
Worked out on your own computer, not sent away — which is why it redraws the instant you move a slider.
We back it up so it follows you between devices. One switch in Settings turns that off and it stays in this browser.
We can see which parts of the app get used. Every number on your screen is blanked out before anything reaches us.
What we won’t claim. We don’t sell your data and we don’t run ads. If you use backup we could technically read your plan — access is limited and logged — but encryption guards against a stolen hard drive, not against the company holding it. Not good enough? About
Most people make their biggest financial decisions half-blind — guessing at a future they can’t see.
“Monte” is the mountain. Planning your finances is the ascent: every goal is a summit, and every “what if?” is scouting the path over the next ridge. The name also nods to Monte Carlo — the math of mapping out many possible futures.
A credible forecast shouldn’t require a spreadsheet wizard or an advisor’s calendar. So we built a planner that’s rigorous under the hood and genuinely a pleasure to use — one that helps a first-time homebuyer today and grows with them for decades. Calm confidence, by design.
