Terms of Use
Last updated July 3, 2026 · Monte is operated by Monte Technologies, LLC.
Monte is a young product and this document is a working draft under review. Questions or concerns? Write to hello@monte.finance — the person who reads it is the person who built the product.
1. Who we are, and what you're agreeing to
These terms are an agreement between you and Monte Technologies, LLC (“Monte”, “we”, “us”), covering your use of the Monte website and planner. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Monte is an educational planning tool — not advice
Monte is a financial-planning and scenario-modeling tool. All projections, figures, and AI-generated explanations are hypothetical and for educational and informational purposes only. They are based on the information you provide and on assumptions that may not reflect your actual circumstances or future conditions.
Monte is not a financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser; is not a fiduciary; and does not provide personalized investment advice or recommendations regarding any security. Nothing in the app is an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy or sell any financial product. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, and you should consult a qualified professional before making them.
3. Plans and billing
Monte is a young product under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice. Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe; prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice before your next renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel (Settings → Manage billing) — cancellation stops future charges and your paid features continue through the period you already paid for. Promotional codes and free trials, where offered, apply on the terms shown when you redeem them. Your plan data lives on your device unless you choose cloud backup (see the Privacy Policy); clearing your browser storage without a backup deletes your data, and we cannot recover it. Please treat Monte as a planning sandbox, not a system of record.
4. The AI assistant
Some plans include an AI assistant that helps you build your profile and explore what-ifs. Your assistant inputs are processed to generate responses and are not used to train AI models. The assistant offers general, educational explanations to help you model scenarios — it does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it will not recommend specific investments.
5. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must be at least 18 to use Monte. You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, to access others’ data, or to use it for anything unlawful. Demo and trial access may be rate-limited, reset, or revoked to keep the service healthy.
6. Your content
Your financial profile and scenarios are yours. You give us only the limited rights needed to operate the service — storing, processing, and displaying your data back to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of projections. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monte Technologies, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for financial decisions made in reliance on the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions belong at hello@monte.finance.
